Biografía
DORMANTH nace en Bilbao en Enero de 1993 tras varias experiencias de sus componentes en diferentes bandas como NOPRESION (Oscar del Val ), BEER MOSH (Javi Martínez) o ELBERETH (Maciej Zienkiewicz).
Tras afianzar su formación con Jorge Elizalde (Bajo y Voz) y Santi G. Mendezona (guitarra) graban en Enero de 1994 su demo auto producida "SADNESS", vendiendo todas las copias y abriendo así varias puertas, demostrando en directo su valía por la península ibérica.Un año más tarde deciden dar el salto y grabar su CD "VALLEY OF DREAMS".
Después de una temporada haciendo directos surgen problemas en el seno del grupo llegando a cambiar a su batería. Tres de sus componentes (Jorge, Santi y Oscar) deciden seguir tocando aunque por problemas legales no lo podrían hacer con el mismo nombre usado hasta entonces...tiempo después se confirmó que si podían usar el nombre de DORMANTH pero tras una serie de conciertos con el nombre de DORMANT SOUL el grupo cesa su actividad, retomándola en 2015 como DORMANTH. Ese año se graba un EP "VOICE OF THE SOUL..." con dos temas más intro y outro como regalo de aniversario para los fans de la banda que todavía piden su regreso a los escenarios.
En 2016 los pioneros del Death-Doom Metal Melódico estatal editan "WINTER COMES" a través de Base Record Production. Vuelta a unos orígenes más nórdicos, aunque sin dejar de lado las melodías características. Renovación completa en el line up estando al frente Oscar del Val (guitarras y voz) junto la colaboración de músicos como Javi Prieto y Víctor Franquelo de MORDOR.
En marzo de 2017 el sello Dead Sheep Productions edita un recopilatorio con todo lo grabado por la banda en su primera etapa bajo el titulo “VALLEY OF SADNESS”.
En marzo de 2018 saldra a la venta su tercer larga duración, “IX SINS”, editado por Dead Sheep Productions, Base Record Production y Necromance Records, donde repetirán formación del anterior con la entrada al bajo de Miguel A. Richart. El encargado para su portada es el artista Igor Mugerza, como ya fue en sus dos anteriores trabajos. También 2018 significara la vuelta a los escenarios que junto a Oscar del Val estará el batería original Javi Martínez, Isma Fernández al bajo y Miguel A. Richart esta vez encargado de la otra guitarra.
